Glad you clicked on our new Grab & Go Kids Planner! We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children. Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for

You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance. Help us build the planner with your own suggestions and tips — just add them to the comment box. Even if you disagree with our picks, let us know. We want to hear from you!

Here’s a family spaghetti dinner, aerial dance performances, fun runs and 5ks and candy heart bingo — pick and choose from this week’s array of events.

Where/When: St. Philothea Greek Orthodox Church on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Why Go: Good food, fellowship and fun for the entire family.  

Pricing: $7 for adults; $4 for children; $3 for children wearing a team jersey 

 

 

Where/When: Canopy Studio on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 5 p.m.

Why Go: A chance to see aerial dance performed by trapeze students of all ages.

Pricing: $10 for adults, $8 for students; $5 for children 

 

Where/When: Athens Academy on Saturday at 9 a.m.  

Why Go: An opportunity to be a part of one of the 2011 Run and See Georgia Grand Prix events. 

Pricing: $20

 

Where/When: Faith Presbyterian Church on Saturday at 1 p.m.  

Why Go: A chance to have fun outdoors with the entire family, get exercise and help the Mother’s Morning Out program.  

Pricing: $20 

 

Where/When: Oconee County Public Library on Monday at 4 p.m.  

Why Go: Bingo, edible candy hearts and prizes for everyone.
