Notice of Appointments to Oconee County Advisory Boards & Committees

The Oconee County Board of Commissioners is seeking citizen applicants for appointment to the following advisory committees and commissions:  

Board of Elections & Registration: Two appointments to begin January 1, 2014 for a 2-year term to expire on December 31, 2015. Members assist in the selection, appointment, and training of poll workers for elections. Meetings held monthly on the first Monday at 3:00 pm at the Board of Elections Office, 10 Court Street, Watkinsville.

Board of Health, Consumer: One appointment to begin January 1, 2014 for a 5-year term to expire December 31, 2018. Members aid the Board of Health in recognizing and making citizens aware of ways to prevent and suppress disease and harmful health conditions. This position will be assigned to represent the county’s needy, underprivileged, and elderly community. Meetings held quarterly on the second Wednesday at 3:30 pm at the Oconee County Health Department, 1060 Experiment Station Road, Watkinsville.

Industrial Development Authority, Constitutional Members: Two appointments to begin January 1, 2014 for a 4-year term to expire December 31, 2017. Members encourage and promote the expansion and development of industrial and commercial facilities in the county. Meetings held monthly on the second Monday at 4:00 pm at the Oconee County Courthouse, 23 North Main Street, Watkinsville.

Oconee River Resource Conservation and Development Council Board: Two appointments to begin January 1, 2014 for a 4-year term to expire December 31, 2017. Members assist in working with local people, agencies, and organizations to identify critical problems, developing plans to alleviate the problems, and implementing such plans to help improve the quality of the area. Council Meetings held quarterly on the third Thursday at 9:00 am at the Oconee County Government Annex, 1291 Greensboro Highway, Watkinsville.
