2014 Bring One for the Chipper Christmas Tree Recycling

Keep Oconee County Beautiful Commission Offers Christmas Tree Recycling

Sponsoring partners:  Oconee Lions Club, Junk South, the Oconee County Sanitation & Road Departments and Georgia Power
PLEASE RECYCLE YOUR CHRISTMAS TREE!
On Saturday, January 4, 2014, the Keep Oconee County Beautiful Commission will be at Harris Shoals Park in Watkinsville, from 9 am to 4 pm, to help you recycle your used Christmas trees.  In exchange for your used tree, you will receive a free seedling to plant, courtesy of the Oconee Lions Club.
Keep Oconee County Beautiful Volunteers will be at the park all day to assist you.
In addition, if it's not convenient to make it to the park on that particular day, you can drop off your tree beginning December 27th at Harris Shoals Park or at any of the Oconee County Recycling Collection Sites (during operating hours only).  Look for the signs.
The trees that are collected will be used for wild fish habitats in local waters or will be ground into mulch.  Oconee residents can pick up free mulch at Harris Shoals Park starting on January 7th.
This year, thanks to our new partner Junk South, Oconee County disabled, veterans and senior citizens (65+) can have their trees picked up.  For more information on this new service in Oconee County, please contact Junk South at 855-RIP-JUNK or at info@junksouth.com
