Update: Qualifiers for 2012 Oconee County Races: Day 2

As of 5 p.m. Thursday, five more candidates had qualified for Oconee County offices and one for District 119 State Representative.

 

Five candidates officially qualified on day 2 for Oconee County offices  on Thursday.  They are:

Sheriff

Downs is challenging incumbent Scott Berry*, who qualified on Wednesday.

 

Board of Education Post 1 (Chair)

  • Mike Hunter (R)

Hunter vacated his Post 4 to face off against Tom Odom, who qualified on Wednsdsay.  

 

Board of Education Post 4

  •  Mike Burnette (R)

 

Board of Commissioners Post 1

Bell is challenging Jim Luke* (R), who qualified on Wednesday and is running for a third term.

 

    Tax Commissioner

    • Jennifer Riddle (R)

    The Georgia Secretary of State's Office confirmed the following qualifier on Thursday:

    State Representative, District 119

    • Chuck Williams* (R)

     

    *Incumbent

     

    The qualifying period ends at noon on Friday. Primary elections will be held on July 31.  The General Election is Nov. 6.
