Mini Grants Awarded to Fund Creative and Educational Classroom Projects

On May 17, the Oconee Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation awarded ten $500 mini grants to Oconee County teachers to help fund projects for the 2012-2013 school year.

Mini grants for the 2012-2013 school year, funded by the Education Foundation, were awarded during an After Hours event at on May 17.

Thirteen teachers, some working as two-person teams, were awarded $500 to fund ten unique projects. The winners were selected from a pool of 45 applicants and were scored independently by GSC Vice President of the Oconee Campus Margaret Venable and two others from the college.  Names of teachers and schools were not indicated on the applications, Venable said.
