Jim Luke plans to run for reelection to Post 1 of the Oconee County Board of Commissioners this November.
Luke made the announcement at last week's meeting of the Industrial Development Authority, The Oconee Enterprise reports.
The 62-year-old businessman told the newspaper he wants to continue working on the Hard Labor Creek Regional Reservoir. He presently serves as vice-chairman of the board responsible for overseeing construction and implementation of the project.
Luke was first elected in 2004. So far, no one else has declared an intention to run for Post 1, according to the article.
