Three Vehicle Thefts Under Investigation in Oconee County

An SUV, a motorcycle and a scooter were reported stolen during the last week. Information was gathered from incident reports on file at the sheriff's office.

Oconee County Sheriff's investigators are working on three recent cases of motor vehicle theft.

In one instance, a $5,000 white 2002 Chevy Suburban was reported missing from Tanglebrook Drive.Β  The owner said he'd left it parked in his son-in-law's driveway overnight July 3-4.Β  The responding deputy noted in the report that there was no broken glass in the area where the SUV had been parked.

Sometime between 10 pm on July 2 and 2 p.m. on July 7, a 2003 Suzuki GX600 FK3 motorcycle was taken from a lot in the Pinewood Estates South mobile home park. It's valued at $4,000.

The third case involves the theft of a 1984 Honda Spree 50CC scooter worth about $1,000 from the front porch of an Elder Street residence on July 4 between midnight and 4 am.
