Golden Chick, a quick-service restaurant headquartered in Texas, is bringing its southern fried catfish and golden roasted chicken to Oconee County.
Currently under construction on Macon Highway next to Waffle House and across from RaceTrac, the restaurant will be the first franchise in Georgia, according to the company's website. There are over 100 locations in Texas, Oklahoma and South Carolina.
Golden Chick is known for its trademarked Original Golden Tenders, which the website refers to as "the filet mignon of chicken."
Single meal combos and family meals appear on the menu along with salads and sides like dirty rice and fruit salad.
