Visual Arts Free Demonstration with Meredith Lachin

Where/When: Saturday, Feb. 18 from at 1 p.m. at the  Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation.

Why Go:  To ask artist Meredith Lachin questions about her paintings and observe her techniques.

Where/When: Friday and Saturday, Feb. 17-18 at 7 p.m. at the Morton Theatre.  There is also a matinee at 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 18. 

Why Go:   To see performances by an all-local cast of aerialists, fire-spinners, dancing dogs and more.

COGS Meeting: 1940 Census

Where/When: Saturday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. at the Oconee County Library

Why Go: To learn from a representative of the National Archives Southeast Region how to locate family members in the 1940 Census, which is scheduled to be released on April 2, 2012.

Pricing: Free


UGA Women's Gymnastics vs. Kentucky

Where/When: Saturday, Feb. 18 at 4 p.m. inside Stegeman Coliseum. 

Why Go:   To cheer on the Gym Dogs as they take on an SEC team in a home meet.

Pricing: $20

 

A Taste of Athens 

Where/When: Sunday, Feb. 19 from 5-8 p.m. at The Classic Center 

Why Go:   To sample the finest local cuisine and support the Community Connection of Northeast Georgia.  There will also be a silent auction.

Pricing: $45
