Oconee-based Zaxby's Ranks Among Fastest Growing Fast Food Chains
Zaxby's has recently been recognized in the "2012 Top 150 Fast-Casual Chain Restaurant Report." with the fifth highest total sales among national fast food chains. It also ranked as the number one chicken segment leader.
Zaxby's, an Oconee-based fast food chain which specializes in chicken, was recently ranked fifth in national sales by market research firm Technomic in the "2012 Top 150 Fast-Casual Chain Restaurant Report," according to a St. John & Partners press release. The regional company, which operates more than 545 locations largely in the Southeast, was first opened in 1990 by CEO Zach McLeroy and Tony Townley. It offers dishes such as chicken fingers and buffalo wings. Zaxby's sales passed $840 million in 2011, placing it near other national sales leaders such as Panera Bread and Chipotle Mexican Grill.
