Prince Avenue Christian Hires Jeff Herron as New Football Coach

The school made the announcement on Wednesday.

Jeff Herron has been hired as the new head football coach at Prince Avenue Christian, the school announced on Wednesday. Herron formerly coached at Oconee County High School and most recently in Camden County. “We are very excited to be able get Jeff Herron to come in and take our football program to the next level,” said Wolverine Athletic Director Richard Ricketts, in a released statement. “Coach Herron is very respected throughout the state of Georgia, not just because of his incredible record as a football coach, but also because of his reputation for leading a program with class and character. I am excited for our school and community to get the opportunity to work with Coach Herron and to get to know his wonderful family.” Herron …

Dream Season Ends for Prince Avenue Christian School's Football Team

The Wolverines lost to Eagles Landing Christian Friday at the Georgia Dome.

It was a tough loss for the Prince Avenue Christian School Wolverine football team Friday at the Georgia Dome. Eagles Landing Christian beat the Wolverines 33-0 to win the Class A Championship, the Athens Banner-Herald reports.   "We played tough, but sometimes you don’t come out on top," Fullback Conner Sibley told the newspaper. "But I’m proud of the season we had and proud that we made it this far.” PACS finished out the season 11-3. Did you go to the game? Prince Avenue Advances to Finals; Double Elimination for Monroe Teams

The Monroe Area and George Walton Academy seasons come to an end after playoff losses on the road.

  The Prince Avenue Christian School Wolverines play on after defeating Landmark Christian Academy, 32-22. The Wolverines advance to the Class -A finals next week. The Athens Banner-Herald reports the Wolverines will face Eagles Landing Christian at the Georgia Dome in a bid for the state title on Friday at 2:30 p.m. The Purple Hurricanes' season ended last night in Tyrone. Sandy Creek plays on after handing the 'Canes a 0-35 loss in the state semifinals. Still, the players and coaches have no reason to hang their heads after an extremely successful year. The team finishes with an overall season record of 12-2. The story was the same down in Stockbridge last night, as George Walton Academy's Bulldogs fell to Eagle's Landing Christan …

High School Football Playoffs: Wolverines Topple Spartans

With the win over Athens Academy, Prince Avenue Christian School advances to round 3.

Oconee County Region 8-A rivals met for the second time this season Friday night. The Athens Academy Spartans battled the Prince Avenue Christian School Wolverines for a spot in next week's round 3 of the playoffs. The Spartans saw their perfect season come to an end, as the Wolverines scored one of the night's biggest upsets. The Wolverines took a 14-7 lead into the locker room at halftime. They played well on both sides of the football in the second half. Athens Academy had no more successful scoring drives while Prince Avenue tacked on a field goal in the 3rd quarter and a touchdown in the 4th. The final score was Athens Academy 7, Prince Avenue 24.
