All this summer you've nominated and voted for your favorite local businesses in categories ranging from Best Burger to Best Nail Salon to Best Bank. Nominations were taken through July 23 and voting wrapped up on Aug. 17. Winners were determined by poll votes and only in the event of a tie were comments counted. (Complete rules are attached as a pdf). One thing's for sure -- there are many well-loved local businesses! We've tallied all the poll votes and now it's time to announce the winners. It's been almost a week since the drawing of the Mega Millions winning jackpot and still none of the holders of the three winning tickets have officially come forward to claim the record payout.

According to all reports, an official winner has yet to come forward for any of the three winning tickets sold for last Friday's record Mega Millions jackpot. The winning tickets were sold in Kansas, Illinois and Maryland. So far one woman, a native of Haiti, did claim to hold the winning ticket purchased at a Maryland store, but that caused some controversy and has not been verified by lottery officials. According to The New York Post, 37-year-old Mirlande Wilson said although she had played a group plan with her fellow workers at the McDonald's she manages, the winning ticket was one she played by herself.
