If any of you know someone who is a vintage car/truck enthusiast, urge them to buy seat belts for their vehicles. Some of these vehicles did not come with seat belts but they are easily retro-fitted. Also, if a vintage car has vintage seat belts, they need to be replaced with new ones. The webbing gets weaker over the years and does not provide the restraint they did when new. A vintage vehicle …   more ›

Van Smashes Through Chandlee Jewelers Storefront

No one was seriously injured in the accident Wednesday afternoon, but one customer was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Bryan Chandlee-Exum stood atop piles of shattered glass late Thursday morning, still in shock and disbelief over what had occurred at her and her husband Larry's shop less than 24 hours before. It was around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. An elderly couple, faithful clients of Chandlee Jewelers, had just exited the store.  Daughter Chandlee was near the front of the shop assisting a female customer who was seated at a showcase when --seemingly out of nowhere-- a white Honda Odyssey came crashing through the storefront. It was …

It could have been so much worse, minutes really do make a major difference. Bryan Chandlee-Exum   more ›
