Oconee Residents Report Mysterious Loud Noise in Salem Road Area
Fire Rescue and Sheriff's deputies responded to the area late Sunday, but no emergency was detected.
The source of loud noise reported Sunday night in Farmington remains a mystery. According to Chief Deputy Lee Weems of the Oconee County Sheriff's Office, around 9 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11, dispatchers received several calls from residents concerned that there was some kind of emergency in the area of Salem and Old Salem roads because a loud noise was heard. We live on Colham Ferry @ Antioch Church and thought there had been a bad wreck. Everyone in the house heard the boom. We looked outside and there was nothing going on. To me it sounded like a clap of thunder.   more ›
