Woman Accused of Threatening to Hit DFCS Worker With Broom Handle

The 36-year-old resident of Epps Bridge Parkway also refused to cooperate with Oconee County Sheriff's deputies, according to an incident report. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

Oconee County Sheriff's deputies were called to a trailer in the Pinewood Estates South mobile home park last week where a worker with the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) said a woman had threatened to hit her with a broken, sharp, metal broom handle. According to an incident report, it happened on Nov. 13 just before 4 p.m. The DFCS worker told deputies she had been refused access to the children at the home and a 36-year-old woman picked up the broom and attempted multiple times to strike her with it.  She said she retreated to her car but the woman chased her and stuck the broom into the car through the passenger's side window and continued to swing it at her face saying, "I'm gonna hit you."
