Will Congressman Paul Broun Make a Run for Senate? His Wife Says Yes

Niki Broun told a crowd in Gwinnett County that her husband was announcing his run for the the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Saxby Chambliss in 2014, according to a report.

  Niki Broun can't wait for her husband, 10th District U.S. Rep. Paul Broun, to throw his hat in the ring for the 2014 U.S. Senate race, according to a report in the ViralRead blog. A post picked up by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution says Niki Broun told the group Citizens Helping America Restore Government Ethics on Tuesday that her husband had her permission to run, and that he was announcing his candidacy. Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss announced last week that he would not seek a third term, opening the way for a spirited primary among potential successors. Rep. Isakson's Statement on Budget Deal That Avoids Shutdown of Government

U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson (R-Ga), made the following statement after Congress reached an agreement late Friday night on a budget stopgap that would cut another $2 billion in spending while keeping the government running until Thursday. "I am pleased that Congress and the President finally reached an agreement to avoid a shutdown of the federal government.
