Oconee Students Explore Science at Fifth Annual Fair and Discovery Night

The top four projects by fourth and fifth graders were awarded Monday at the Oconee County Civic Center.

The top eight science fair projects from each of Oconee County's elementary schools were on display at the Civic Center Monday for the fifth annual Science Fair Discovery Night. The event, featuring work by fourth and fifth grade students, was sponsored by the Oconee County Association of Educators. Did you go to the Science Fair and Discovery Night? 1. Watch out for spotty fog this morning and a 30 percent chance of rain until about 2 p.m., according to the Weather Channel.  Mostly cloudy skies are predicted for the afternoon with the high around 62 degrees. 2. Vistacare representatives will visit the Oconee County Senior Center at 10:30 a.m. to provide a program about services for the visually impaired. 3. Today is the opening day of the 63rd Georgia Science & Engineering Fair.  The fair, held in the Classic Center, features work in the fields of biological sciences, physical sciences, mathematics and engineering from junior and senior high school finalists.  Projects will be on display through April 2. 4.
