The new business is located in the Langford Business Park.

After spending much of his career working in an east Athens State Farm office, Dana Kerr says he's excited to be offering insurance products to a new market in Oconee County. Kerr and his team sell auto, home, life, and health insurance and can assist with banking needs. Opening Soon: RaceTrac on Monroe Highway

A grand opening celebration is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 12 at the new Oconee County, Ga. gas station and convenience store.

Finishing touches are taking place at the site of the new RaceTrac at 2403 Monroe Highway in preparation for opening day Friday, Oct. 12. In celebration, a ribbon cutting has been scheduled for 10:30 a.m.  The owners will say a few words, as will Melvin Davis, Chairman of the County Board of Commissioners.  Members of the North Oconee High School Titan Regiment are slated to perform and a DJ will keep the party rocking through the early afternoon. Additionally, vendors will be giving away free samples and coupons. The entire community is invited, according to Kristi McLinskey, RaceTrac Community Partnerships Manager in Georgia. Athens Ford Displays ATHICA Artwork, Launches Scholarship Contest

The Oconee County Chamber of Commerce celebrated the dealership's new ownership with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Sept. 18, 2012.

Ambassadors with the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce recently toured Athens Ford dealership on Atlanta Highway while attending a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate its new ownership. Jade Valdes, who handles public relations, explained that Artwork from ATHICA is currently on display inside. In an effort to seek out new ways to support the arts as well as athletics, Valdes said Athens Ford has launched a scholarship contest through its Facebook page that will award three art students.  Winners will be announced on Dec. 1, 2012.
