Opening Day is Saturday at its new location -- in front of the Oconee County Courthouse.
It's back and has the potential to be bigger than ever. The Oconee Farmers Market kicks off its ninth season on Saturday. This year organizers say the market will be more visible than in the past because it is moving across the street to the front of the Oconee County Courthouse. Originally the market occupied the front lawn of Eagle Tavern. As it grew, it moved to back to accommodate for more vendors. Now, it will again be seen by passersby on Main Street. "This will hopefully give us a lot more visibility and make people more aware and they stop and by and spend," Vice President of the Market Russ Page said.
