Dental Assistant Accused of Fraudulently Obtaining Prescription Drugs
A Kroger pharmacist called Oconee County, Ga. authorities when she noticed an "out of the ordinary" prescription on July 19. An arrest does not mean a conviction.
An Oconee County Sheriff's deputy says an Athens woman admitted to calling in a prescription for herself without her employer dentist's knowledge. The deputy was dispatched to Kroger Pharmacy on July 19 after a pharmacist became suspicious of a prescription that had been called into the pharmacy because she had never seen that dentist prescribe Lortab pills, the deputy noted in the report. The pharmacist said she contacted Dr. Neal Pylant of Athens Periodontics who confirmed he had not prescribed the pills to the person named on the prescription, according to the incident report.
