Crime Report: Pit Bull Shot Dead, Waffle House Vandalism and Scuffle at Pep Rally

The following information was gathered from Oconee County Sheriff's Office reports and highlights incidents reported Sept. 13-16.

Dog Shot to Death: A Marshall Store Road resident reported someone shot and killed his fawn-colored pit bull sometime between 10 p.m. on Sept. 15 and 8 a.m. on Sept. 16.  The dog's owner said he found the dog's body with one fatal bullet wound just off the road in the 1200 block of the street. He said the dog was kept in a pen but must have escaped.  He also said he didn't believe the dog was aggressive and that he believes he knows who is responsible but didn't want to press charges right away. Deputies spoke with a neighbor about the incident who said he did not shoot the dog.  The investigation continues. Waffle House Vandalism: A deputy was dispatched to Waffle House on Epps Bridge Parkway around 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 16.  A cook reported…
