Chinese Hot Pot

Here's an interesting spin on fondue.

My neighbors and dear friends Bill Zorn and Chen Yang invited my friend Glenda Boyd and me to dinner at their home overlooking the Elder Covered Bridge.  It was a delightful evening of shared cultures,  incredible talent, beautiful music, and delicious food! Yang, unfortunately, had to leave for a trip to her homeland of  Bejing  the next day, so I was unable to get her exact recipe, but this link takes you to a very similar recipe with gorgeous photos: Chinese Hot Pot It includes dipping raw strips of beef and lamb, cubes of tofu,  mushrooms and cabbage with your chopsticks into a simmering pot of delicious vegetable broth steaming with peppers, onion and spices.  You hold your food  with the chopsticks in the boiling broth long enough …

Ward's Photographs on Display at OCAF

OCAF is exhibiting the photographic work of Watkinsville's own Dr. Roy Ward from January 7 to February 7.

The Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF) kicks off the new year with Dr. Roy Ward's photographs showcased in a gallery exhibition. The OCAF gallery contains 18 of Ward's black and white hand-printed photographs taken from his 1990s travel adventures from all over the Southeast. Dr. Ward, born and raised in Watkinsville, is a local expert on the area. He’s also a celebrity of sorts. His artistic talent is highly regarded, so much so, OCAF personally contacted him and requested to display his work in a one-man show.
