Warriors Unable to Close the Deal Against Loganville

The Loganville Red Devils win 61-58 over the OCHS Warrior boys basketball team on Saturday night.

LOGANVILLE-- The Oconee County Boys Basketball Team had a 7-point lead with five minutes left against Loganville, but were unable to close the deal as the Red Devils edged out the Warriors 61-58 Saturday night. "Towards the end, we're up by 7 with five to play, and then we turn it over too many times," Oconee County Head Coach Michael Youngblood said.  "We don't take care of the basketball and we don't even get shots in the half court.  Grant it, their pressure was pretty good, but our guards have to do a better job of handling their pressure," Youngblood said. One of Oconee County's guards, senior Byron Stufken, led the Warriors with 20 points, including four three-pointers.  Sophomore guard Connor White was another key contributor to the…

The Lady Warriors were able to keep pace with the Red Devils as Soph. guard Brianna Dickens hit four nice three-pointers on the night.  The Lady Warriors also got production from Gabby Bellivard and Ali Lafayette.  Both Bellivard and Lafayette finished in double figures.
