Titan Regiment Wins Title

NOHS tallied the highest score and was awarded Grand Champion at the 34th annual Greater Atlanta Marching Festival.

By Robert Taylor Congratulations to the North Oconee High School marching band as they brought home the top award at the 34th annual Greater Atlanta Marching Festival held Oct. 22 at Rockdale County High School. All totaled, the Titan Regiment garnered six trophies, en route to capturing the title of Grand Champion. The band received all superior ratings from the judges and placed first for Band, Drum Major and Flagline in Class AA. In the Silver Division (Class A and AA bands) the Titan Regiment tallied the highest score and was awarded Grand Champion. A happy senior class gathered afterward on the field to show off the hardware they had worked so hard for. This was the last marching competition for the Class of 2012.

Great Competition Season Comes to a Close for OCHS Warrior Band

The Warrior Marching Band earned superior ratings at two competitions in October.

The Oconee County High School Warrior Marching Band closed competition season last weekend with another set of straight "superior" marks. According to the OCHS Band Blog, the band placed third in class 3A at the Georgia Invitational Band Championship held at Hiram High School on Saturday, Oct. 22. The best overall Drum Major trophy was awarded to Erin McCollum, the blog post noted. The Warrior Marching Band also earned superior ratings and placed third at the Georgia Contest of Champions on Oct. 8 at East Jackson High School. Great job, Warriors!

NOHS Marching Band Earns Superior Ratings

The Lake Lanier Tournament of the Bands was the first competition of the season for North Oconee High School.

By Robert Taylor The North Oconee High School marching band competed at the Lake Lanier Tournament of Bands at Chestatee High School in Hall County on Oct. 1. The band performed well in its first marching competition of the season, receiving all superior ratings, and garnering first place for drum major, percussion and flag line.Overall, the Titan Regiment captured 2nd place in the Silver Division. Up next for the band is the Greater Atlanta Area Marching Contest in Conyers on Oct. 22 at Rockdale County High School.
