4-Count Indictment Returned in Oconee County for Accused Child Molester

An Oconee County grand jury has handed down a four-count indictment against Michael Patrick Brock, 42, of Commerce that includes two counts of aggravated child molestation, one count aggravated sexual battery and one county statutory rape. The indictment was filed with the Oconee County Clerk of Superior Court on Nov. 5. The indictment alleges Brock engaged in sexual intercourse with a female under the age of sixteen and "did commit an immoral and indecent act." According to previous reports, the incident allegedly involved a 14-year-old girl at an Oconee County residence where Brock was house sitting. Man Indicted on Five Counts of Distributing Obscene Materials to Oconee Teen

A 20-year-old Lizella man who was arrested in July on charges of electronically distributing obscene materials to an Oconee County teen has been indicted by a grand jury. According to the 5-count indictment filed Tuesday with the Clerk of Superior Court, Martin Coty Johnson, is accused of using a cell phone to send images of male genitalia and acts of masturbation to the victim.  The indictment alleges the images were sent on May 29 and June 30 of 2012 "with the intent to arouse the sexual desires" of the teen. Authorities with the Oconee County Sheriff's Office said Johnson met the 14-year-old victim through an Internet chat room. Indictment Returned in Case Involving Printing of Child Porn at Oconee Library

Budge Earl Williams has been indicted on two counts of criminal attempt to commit the crime of sexual exploitation of a child.

An Oconee County grand jury has handed down an indictment against Budge Earl Williams, 70, of Fowler Mill Road, on two counts of criminal attempt to commit the crime of sexual exploitation of a child. The indictment was filed with the Clerk of Superior Court on Aug. 21. The indictment alleges Williams, while using a computer at the Oconee County Library on Aug. 1, printed two images from the internet "that depicted a minor child under the age of 18 years engaged in sexually explicit conduct." Federal Grand Jury Indicts Northeast Georgia Woman on Meth Charge

In a drug case that originated from a traffic stop last January, a federal grand jury has handed down an indictment to a northeast Georgia woman. Officials with the Oconee County Sheriff's Office reported Monday they received a copy of the indictment for 23-year-old Kirsten Danielle Jones of Watkinsville on one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Deputies have been working with the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Georgia State Patrol on the joint investigation, and a federal grand jury reviewed the case last week, according to the news release. Seven-Count Indictment Returned for Man Accused of Threatening to Kill Family Members

An Oconee County grand jury has handed down a 10-count indictment against a local man accused of assaulting his brother-in-law with a knife, threatening to kill him and three other family members last summer. James Erik Hester, 33, has been indicted on the charges of aggravated assault, four counts of terroristic threats and acts, and two counts of battery.   The alleged incident took place in the evening of August 21, 2011 at a home in the 1100 block of Watson Springs Road. Hester was hospitalized for treatment of a single, non-life threatening gunshot to the abdomen, after authorities said he was shot by his brother-in-law as an act of self-defense. Man Indicted on 10 Counts in Attack on Elderly Oconee Woman

For allegedly bludgeoning a 73-year-old Bishop woman while she slept in her bed "with intent to commit the crime of Murder," 22-year-old handyman Jacob Potter Wagner faces formal charged. An Oconee County grand jury handed down a ten-count indictment against the Rays Church Road resident that also includes two counts of aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated assault, three counts of burglary and one count theft by taking. The indictment was filed with the Oconee County Clerk of Superior Court on May 30. The indictment alleges Wagner "did strike Judith Gilvey, a person over the age of 65, repeatedly about the head and face with his fists and hands and with a certain object, which object is not presently known to the Grand Jury." Construction Worker Dies on the Job – Cumming Patch A 46-year-old man operating heavy equipment on a home site under construction in a south Forsyth County subdivision was killed Thursday morning, according to authorities. The accident occurred just before 11:30 on Bramble Bush Way in the subdivision off James Burgess Road, said Capt. Jason Shivers with the Forsyth County Fire Department. Jeffery McGhee of Cumming was operating a skid-steer loader (brand name "Bobcat") and is believed to have backed down a steep incline and hit a tree.
