During the busy holiday season, many Oconee County restaurants are seeing an increase in sales as shoppers stop for lunch between purchases or meet to exchange gifts with friends. Oconee Patch caught up with a few local chefs and restaurant owners to ask about seasonal specials, their favorite holiday dishes and tips on cooking for the holidays. The Granary in downtown Watkinsville, open since March 2009, offers special Christmas "Chocolate Chunk Bread" throughout the holiday season. The Granary is a bakery and country store. "It is bittersweet sourdough bread with chocolate chunks throughout," said Scott Thomas, the bakery's owner.
