Georgia Juniors Volleyball Club Serves Up Excitement

Players are given a chance to grow and develop their skills during the off-season.

As I walked through the door of the Spartan Center at Athens Academy and got a whiff that was undeniably "gymnasium," heard the squeak of sneakers on hardwood, the chirp of teenage girls, and the "boosh" of a volleyball being hit, I was instantly reeled back to the age of 14. Not being athletic myself,  the emotion I felt by this (dread) was nowhere close to the emotion my beautiful goddaughter, Alette, was feeling at that moment (joy)! After two seasons as a middle school volleyball team member at Athens Academy, thirteen-year-old Alette Duan is one of 116 girls that were chosen through tryouts to be a part of ten elite teams of area volleyball players called “Georgia Juniors.” Players 18 years-old and under are eligible to play on teams …
