Thousands turned out for the annual Christmas Parade in downtown Watkinsville on Saturday.
The annual Watkinsville Christmas Parade, held on Dec. 3, drew a large crowd. Over 100 entries -- decorated to match the theme "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas"-- marched down Main Street representing businesses, schools, elected officials, organizations and others. The parade lasted an hour and a half! It was organized by The Oconee Enterprise. American Pest Control and the newspaper teamed up to collect non-perishable food items for the Area Churches Together Serving Food Bank. Winners in the following categories will be announced in the next edition of The Oconee Enterprise: Best Use of Theme, Most Creative, Best Float (children and adults), Best Antique Vehicle, Best Animal, Judge's Choice, and Best Antique Trailer.
