Bubber Wilkes Exits Commissioner's Race

Family and work must take priority, he tells the Oconee Enterprise.

Former Oconee County Commissioner Bubber Wilkes, a security officer at Athens Regional Medical Center, announced this week he will no longer seek the Post 4 seat on the Board, according to the Oconee Enterprise. Wilkes told the newspaper his wife's recent cancer diagnosis is one of the reasons it's not the best time for him to run for office.
