1.Temperatures will climb even higher today and linger near 80 degrees this afternoon, the Weather Channel predicts. Enjoy the sunshine at Harris Shoals Park, Herman C. Michael Park or other great outdoor locations around Oconee County. 2.Check out the East Athens Educational Dance Center performance of "Inspired to be Free" at the Morton Theatre in downtown Athens at 3 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance if purchased on-line and $12 each at the door. 3. Though not a lot of Oconee County businesses are participating in the two Athens shows this Sunday, many are busy helping couples throw the wedding of their dreams.
There are a lot of things that brides stress over as they plan their big day — things like the guest list, flowers, the caterer, the cake, the dress, music, photographers and decorations. This weekend, two area bridal shows aim to take some of the pressure off planning a wedding by making it easier for brides to choose vendors that handle everything from the flowers to the food. The Georgia Bridal Show at the Athens Classic Center features wedding professionals from all over the state, brought together by Elite Bridal Events, a group that also hosts shows in Atlanta, Augusta and Macon.
