Tripp Halstead, Barrow Toddler Injured by Tree Limb, is Fighting New Infections

Stacy Halstead asked for prayers for her son in a post Friday morning on the Facebook page where the family provides updates on his condition.

UPDATE: Posted to Facebook by Tripp's father, Bill Halstead.  Original report:  Tripp Halstead, a toddler seriously injured in October when a tree limb weighing several hundred pounds fell and struck him in the head, is in intensive care, according to a post on the Facebook page where the family provides updates on his condition.  "I finally talked to his ICU dr for just a moment and he just said that Tripp is extremely sick, the infection is very serious and it is life [sic] threating," Stacy Halstead posted about 9 a.m. "Tripp is still heavily sedated so at least he is finally getting some sleep. 'Trouble with the Curve' Reviews: Predictable, Yet Entertaining

Amy Adams and Justin Timberlake join Clint Eastwood and John Goodman in this baseball-centered movie shot (partially) in Athens and Barrow County, Ga.

  There's one star in "Trouble with the Curve" that won't get top billing in the movie's promotion: downtown Athens. People from Athens and across north Georgia will easily recognize familiar places, streets and even faces from the Classic City as they watch Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams, John Goodman and other movie stars on screen. Police Investigating Post on Jamie Hood's Facebook Page

Accused cop killer Jamie Hood is in solitary confinement at the Barrow County Detention Center.

Accused cop killer Jamie Hood is in solitary confinement at the Barrow County Detention Center. With that fact in mind, authorities don't believe Hood, who is charged with killing an Athens-Clarke County police officer, is responsible for a message posted to his personal Facebook page last week. Continuance on Gray's Oconee Court Appearance

Brian Richard Gray, 32, of Winder is accused of having sex with an Oconee County underage girl.

UPDATE: According to the Oconee County Clerk of Court's office, there has been a continuance on Brian Gray's appearance in the Oconee Superior Court today. There has been no new Oconee County court date set as of this posting.  Gray's attorney, Amy Carter of  Epps, Pilgrim, Olson and Pruitt Law Office in Cumming, Ga., was unavailable for comment and will be out of the office until January 6. On December 7, an Oconee County grand jury indicted Gray on seven charges relating to alleged sexual-relations with an under-aged Oconee County girl.  His case was scheduled to be heard in the Oconee Superior Court today. Gray is also facing hearings in the Barrow County court system on 58 charges related to the same Oconee County minor. The Barrow …

Gray pled guilty and was sentenced this week in an arrangement Thursday June 9th with the District Attorney's Office for the Piedmont Judicial Circuit. According to the plea deal Gray will serve 15 years in state prison will an additional 10 years of probation upon his release. Further, Gray will be required to register as a sex offender for life.
