Swim Meet Success for Oconee Schools

Oconee County High School placed third overall at the Clarke-Oconee Invitational on Saturday, while North Oconee was hot on their heels in fourth.

Oconee County High School and North Oconee High School had a successful weekend at UGA's natatorium on Saturday. Oconee County finished third overall for the Clarke-Oconee Invitational tournament with 552.5 points, while North Oconee finished just behind with 520.5 points.  The nine-hour tournament featured 29 schools from Atlanta and northeast Georgia. The ice and snow storm that hit North Georgia earlier this month affected all of the athletic teams in the areas affected. Nine full days away from both competition and practice can have a significant impact on athletes -- physically and, more importantly, mentally.
