An Athens man is accused of dumping the pills when an Oconee County deputy tried to stop him.
Detective James "Jim" Mayes, of the Walton County Sheriff's Office, died unexpectedly on Tuesday. He will be buried in Loganville on Friday.

The family of 42-year-old Derek Buford of Grayson, Ga. is worried he could have been in a single car wreck on the way to work on Aug. 23 and is lying somewhere, possibly seriously injured or worse.
Derek Woodston Buford, of Grayson, has been missing since Thursday morning. The public's help is sought in helping locate him.
