Surgery to repair a serious fracture caused my left arm to be immobilized for several weeks. This is never a good thing, especially for a senior.
Even with extensive physical therapy it seemed like the muscles around my shoulder were “stuck,” preventing me from moving the shoulder through its full range of motion. I asked the physical therapist what else I could be doing and she suggested massage.
Jeanette McElhannon, the wonderful licensed massage therapist at BodyWorx, set me up with weekly half-hour chair massages. She explained that, in addition to my own stretching and strength exercises at home, the massages would help break up the adhesions that limited my arm movement.
Four weeks in I’ve seen significant improvement every single visit. I don’t think of these sessions as a luxury; I see them as helping me achieve something neither my physical therapist nor I could do on our own.

Dr. Anne Acosta provides ecxellent chiropractic care. Jeanette McElhannon does an excellent job with therapeuic massage.
