Free Anti-Bullying Workshop

Students in Oconee County are invited to a free bullying workshop at Megalodon Gym on Oct. 13, 2012.

Watkinsville’s Megalodon Gym is now taking registrations for students for its free anti-bullying workshop. This professionally created and administered martial arts training curriculum was specially designed with school children in mind. Children are invited to learn self-defense tactics in a safe, family environment. In addition to learning common self-defense movements, students will be coached on how to react and have the proper attitude when dealing with bullies.
Instructor for the workshop will be Casey Baynes. Casey has been in law enforcement for over 16 years and currently serves as an instructor at the Northeast Georgia Police Academy. He has worked many bullying cases in children over his law enforcement career. He is a graduate of Georgia College and State University with a major in Health and Physical Education.

Classes will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012 with K, 1st and 2nd grades 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., 3rd and 4th grades 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., and 5th through 7th grades 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the school, located at 2061 Hog Mountain Road, Oconee Plaza (Bell’s Shopping Center), Watkinsville.
