Playoff Time: Region 8-A Action Begins Tonight

Meantime, the North Oconee High Titans hope for another post-season win.

The North Oconee Titans (10-1, 7-0) head to round two of the AAA playoffs following last week's 37-14 victory over the Ringgold Tigers. Tonight, the Titans face 7-AAA champs, the Buford Wolves, who are 8-3 on the season and advance after beating Cedar Grove (Ellenwood, Ga) 41-27.

The Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (10-1, 6-1) advance to round two in the AAAA playoffs with a 21-14 win last week against Shaw High School (Columbus, Ga). They will face AAAA-6B champs The Grady Knights (Atlanta). Grady is 9-2, and advanced by defeating River Ridge (Woodstock) last week by a score of 27-17.

Four local private schools from region 8-A start their playoffs tonight.

The undefeated Athens Academy Spartans (10-0) will face Region A-6B Mt Pisgah Christian School from (Johns Creek).

Prince Avenue Christian School's Wolverines (8-2) will face A-6B's Darlington Tigers (Rome).

Athens Christian Academy's Eagles (4-6) will also face an A-6B team, the Walker Wolverines of Marietta.

The George Walton Academy Bulldogs (7-3) seek redemption as well as a continued playoff berth tonight against the Aquinas Fightin' Irish.
The Bulldogs travelled to Augusta to face the Region A-7 team on Sept. 7, but lost by a touchdown, 21-28.

Region 8-AAAAA's Clarke Central Gladiators' post season was short-lived. The Gladiators travelled to Dallas, Ga last week but lost 31-23 to an undefeated East Paulding team.
