Track & Field

• Athens Area Meet at Cedar Shoals HS:  Girls 4 x 100 Meter Relay:  Athens Christian A Team (1. Tara Dove, 2. Emily Haley, 3. Mary Echols, 4. Bryanne Acker, 5. Natasha Braughton, 6. Kendra Paine) finished second in this discipline behind the Cedar Shoals A Team.  The North Oconee A Team (1. Lauren Tolbert, 2. Megan Singleton, 3. Olivia Brown, 4. Carmen Williams) finished fourth.  The North Oconee B Team finished sixth, followed by Athens Academy A Team, Athens Christian B, North Oconee C and Athens Academy B.  In the Boys 4 x 100 Meter Relay, the Athens Christian B Team of John Echols, Payton Mapp, Levi Cummings, Christos Martinez, Zack Resop and Marquis Christian, finished in fourth place behind Cedar Shoals B and A Teams, and first place Clarke Central A.  The North Oconee A Team of Stafford McCurry, Chase Lee, Wes Brooks and Nick Colvin, finished in fifth place, followed by Oconee County A, North Oconee B, Athens Academy A and the Athens Academy B Team.  In the Girls 1600 Meter Run, Destiny Jenkins of Athens Christian finished in first place with a time of 5:26.51, gaining 10 points for her team.  Shelia Donovan of North Oconee finished third with a time of 5:35.72 and gaining 6 points, and her teammate Dorie Faber finished in fourth in the event with a time of 5:41.98 and 4 points.
