Lady Titans Tennis Head to Elite 8 of Class AA

The season ended for the Lady Warriors on Tuesday in the second round of the Class AAA tournament.

The 5th ranked Lady Titans are headed to the Elite 8 of the Class AA state tennis tournament.  On Tuesday the North Oconee girls defeated Armuchee High 3-0, making it through the Sweet 16.  Becca Bruning won at No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-2; Sarah Rogers notched a victory at No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-3, and the duo of Casey Blanton and Kathleen Greenway won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles.  Next week the 16-3 Lady Titans will travel to the winner of the Blessed Trinity-Pepperell match up. 

The tennis season came to an end Tuesday for the 3rd ranked Lady Warriors, as they dropped a 5-0 decision to 2nd ranked St. Pius X in the Class AAA tournament.  The OCHS girls had a fantastic season, going 19-3 overall and a perfect 16-0 in Region 8-AAA, en route to another region title.  It was the last high school match for seniors (No. 1 singles) and Caroline Guest (No. 1 doubles).
