UNG Students Treated to Day of Rejuvenation

Just in time for final exams local businesses introduced students at the Oconee campus to acupuncture and massage therapy during a holistic health fair.

University of North Georgia students at a holistic health fair last week were given the chance to de-stress ahead of finals.

UNG personal counselor and wellness specialist Justin Earnest said the event also doubled as an opportunity to raise awareness about the counseling services available to students, which are free and confidential.

Reddy Medical Center offered body fat composition testing, St. Mary's Hospital provided blood pressure checks, and 5 Points Acupuncture demonstrated acupuncture therapy.  Students lined up for chair massages by Kimberly Morgan Massage and experimented with yoga and Tai Chi.   A nutritionist shared advice and representatives of Earth Fare distributed information about how to develop healthy eating habits.
