State School Superintendent Barge Accepting Applications for Georgia Student Advisory Council

Georgia students in grades 9 through 12 are eligible to apply.

State School Superintendent Dr. John Barge is seeking students in grades 9 -12 who would be interested in serving on the 2012-2013 Student Advisory Council.

Students from any Georgia school in the above grades are welcome to apply. The Student Advisory Council meets with Superintendent Barge twice during the school year and meetings for 2012-2013 are currently scheduled for Nov. 7, 2012 and March 6, 2013. Students applying should note that the dates are subject to change.

"I am looking forward to getting to know a new group of student advisers and discuss how our policies affect them on a daily basis," stated Superintendent Barge in a press release. "We want to make education work for all Georgia’s students and hearing directly from them is the best way to ensure that happens.”
