School Board to Approve ELOST Election Date

The Education Local Option Sales Tax is just one of several issues the Oconee County School Board will address at a regular meeting Monday evening.

Oconee County residents will have a chance to vote on the renewal of a special purpose local option sales tax for education this year.Β 

At the meeting of the tonight, members are poised to approve a date for the referendum.Β  The proposed date is November 8, according to a referendum schedule.Β

  • Recognition of and other recent awards and achievements.
  • Approval of a request to the Georgia Department of Education for class size waivers for the 2011-12 school year.
  • Discussion about the upcoming Stihl Man Timbersports Competition.
  • Consideration of a Resolution to Support Vision Project.

School board meetings are held in the Board Room of the Oconee County School District Central Offices located at 34 School Street in Watkinsville.
