Rotary Club Recognizes Students of the Semester

The students were chosen by the schools and recognized by Oconee Rotarians for excellence both in and out of the classroom.

The Oconee Rotary Club recently recognized five students from each of the county’s high schools at its twice-a-year Student of the Semester program.

The students were chosen by the schools and recognized by Oconee Rotarians for excellence both in and out of the classroom.  The students were also asked to choose a teacher of their choice, and to tell what made that particular teacher special to them.

In addition to a certificate of recognition, the club also presented each student with a 2011 American Silver Eagle Coin, which is an ounce of silver.  The Rotary Club of Oconee County has been recognizing students and teachers through this program for several years, and it’s great to see all the truly talented and capable young people and educators we have in the county.
