A mix of snow and rain is possible overnight Monday to Tuesday. See what else there is to know about today.

Weather: The work week gets under way with sunny skies and high temperatures in the low to mid 50s. The National Weather Service has issued a fire danger statement warning of high fire conditions in northeast Georgia Monday afternoon. There's a chance for a rainy/snowy mix overnight, but no accumulation is expected, according to The Weather Channel.

  • Repair work on the Mcrees Mill Road culvert is scheduled to start today and last throughout the week.  The Oconee County Public Works Department advises motorists there may be short-term, intermittent traffic restriction in the area.
  • Early voting for the Presidential Primary begins today. Advanced voting takes place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday- Friday through March 2 in the Board of Elections office at 10 Court Street in Watkinsville.  Saturday voting will be held on February 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. On March 6, voters will cast ballots at their assigned precincts.
  • Help with tax form preparation is available for free at every Monday from 1 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.  Members of the AARP will assist on a first come first serve basis.  Assistance is open to adults of all ages.
  • The Board of Education will recognize Rocky Branch Elementary School artists, Oconee County High School softball players, and 4-H students at a regular meeting at 5 p.m.   See the complete draft of the agenda
