Generations Montessori School Observes International Walk to School Day

Students, parents and teachers gathered on South Main Street and walked to School Street on Oct. 3, 2012.

Students of Generations Montessori School took a field trip of sorts last Wednesday: they walked to school.

The children, along with parents and teachers, met at one student's home on South Main Street and walked a half mile to the building on School Street. Watkinsville Police Chief O'Dillon served as the crossing guard.

Lead teacher Heather Weisenborn said the children really enjoyed the walk, which was held in conjunction with International Walk to School Day.
