Williams' Swearing-In Ceremony Planned for Friday

Oconee's Chuck Williams will be sworn in as representative of Georgia House District 113 on July 29.

will officially begin his new job serving Georgia's House District 113 on Friday.

Chief Judge Lawton Stephens will preside over Williams' swearing-in ceremony at 11 a.m. on July 29 in Courtroom 1 of the .

Williams, a Republican, beat Democrat Dan Matthews by 62.4 to 37.6 percent in a Runoff Election July 19.  The two were the in a June 21 Special Election to replace former , who is now chancellor of the University System of Georgia Williams will serve out Huckaby's remaining term, about a year and a half.

Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp certified the Runoff Election results this week.

Georgia House District 113 includes all of Oconee County and parts of Clarke, Oglethorpe and Morgan.
