Williams and Matthews to Square Off in Debate

The two remaining candidates running for the 113th District House seat will meet on stage in the Oconee Civic Center Theatre on June 30.

A political debate featuring and has been scheduled for Thursday, June 30 in the Theatre.

The two candidates were the in the June 21 special election to fill the vacant 113th District House seat and will face off in a runoff election on July 19.

The debate, sponsored by the , will be moderated by Tim Bryant, news director of 1340 WGAU, 106.1 WNGC and FM Newstalk 103.7 WXKT in Athens.  It will be broadcast live.

Residents may submit questions between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m, according to a news release.  A meet and greet with the candidates starts at 6:30 p.m., and the hour-long debate will get underway at 7 p.m.
