Ivie Takes Oath of Office As Mayor of Watkinsville

A packed community center witnessed Ivie's swearing-in ceremony on Wednesday.

Watkinsville Community Center took on a festive feel with a packed room and a twinkling Christmas tree in the corner.

Charles Ivie's family and friends gathered for his swearing-in ceremony at the December council meeting, and scout families were also in attendance to support their boys.

Mayor Joe Walter greeted each guest as they arrived, and promptly at 7 p.m. the meeting began.

On the agenda, in addition to Ivie's swearing-in, were Christmas Parade awards as well as business license and pouring license appearances and Eagle Scout project acknowledgements and submissions.
