Oconee Sheriff Berry Appointed to Special Council on Criminal Justice Reform

Gov. Deal appointed 21 members to the council on May 24.

of Oconee County has been appointed to the Special Council on Criminal Justice Reform by Gov. Nathan Deal.

The council is responsible for making recommendations to the governor’s office on areas of improvement in the criminal justice system. 

Berry was among 21 officials appointed by Deal in an executive order dated May 24. The appointments follow a report by an earlier board established by the General Assembly in 2011.
