Runoff Election Day

Polls close at 7 p.m. in Georgia House District 113.

Runoff election day has arrived, and and are each hoping to garner enough votes to head to the Georgia State Capitol to represent House District 113.

The two were the top vote-getters in the June . Williams led the pack with 38.8 percent of the vote; 26.7 percent went to Matthews. Both and moved forward. They met face to face in a political .

Oconee County Observations blogger Lee Becker just over 1000 voters cast ballots in advance of today's runoff, while less than half of that number voted early in last month's special election. About 11 percent of active voters turned out to the polls in the June 21 election.Β

There are 13 polling places in Oconee County, and registered voters can find out to which precincts they are assigned by either calling the Board of Elections Office at 706-310-3486 or visiting the Georgia Secretary of State's My Voter Page. Polls close at 7 p.m. and live results will be posted on Oconee Patch.
