Road Construction Completion Pushed Back Due to Weather Conditions

The Jennings Mill Parkway/ Epps Bridge Parkway/Oconee Connector roadwork now scheduled for completion in January.

The project was on schedule for the end of the year completion as of Dec 21, but due to wet conditions during the last few weeks, officials now project a completion date of no later than Jan 14, 2012.

Oconee County Public Works Director Emil Beshara has informed us that the plan is to stripe the roads and finish signals next week. “If I had to guess, it will probably open no later than Jan 14, 2012.”

The $13.5 million project has caused intermittent delays with land closures and detrous around entrances to businesses on both sides of the road. Jennings Mill Parkway has been as it intersects at Epps Bridge Parkway to provide an entrance to provide an entranceway to a proposed $76 million shopping center to be built between and SR Loop 10, according to an Oconee County Observations report.
